       WOSA Workdays at Sulzbacher Demonstration Forest

               Where:  3057 Big Creek Road, Clearville, Pa. 

                              look for large WOSA sign and a yellow gate a bit farther up the lane

                              follow the gravel lane up the hill; park beside other vehicles in the big hay field


           UPCOMING WORK DAY:  

               Reset Tree Tubes and Stakes
                Date & Time:  Friday, April 5  from 9am until noon
                What:  resetting 50-75 tree tubes that are leaning or on the ground

                Note:  bring your own lunch and water
                            bring:  work gloves, tree shovel, pruners and/or sledge hammer
                            jiffy john will be on-sites


              Spring Tree Planting

                Date & Time:  Monday, April 22  or  Monday, May 13  from 9am until early afternoon

                What:  planting 300 native tree seedlings & protecting them with tree tubes and stakes 

               Note:  WOSA will provide lunch

                             bring:  drinking water, work gloves, shovel, pruners and/or sledge hammer

                             jiffy john will be on-sites

         Mushroom Log Inoculation Workshop

         Maple Syrup and Sugarhouse Tour
               Date & Time:  Sunday, April 7  at 2pm - 4pm
               Where:  Forester Seth Clapper's house

                               404 Woodbury Pike, Hopewell, PA

               Note:  view of a maple syrup operation 

                            dress for an easy 1/4 mile walk through a field of his sugarbush 



         Driving Tour of PGC's Habitat Projects on Will's Mountain
               Date & Time:  Thursday, April 25  from 9am - noon
               Where:  State Game Land 048

                               meet at the first parking area off of Paradise Road on SGL 048

                               entrance to Paradise Rd is off of SR 220; 10 miles south SR30 (Bedford) or

                                     5.1 miles north of Centerville
               Note:  high clearance vehicles is advised, but we will carpool from the parking lot
                           bring own picnic lunch - optional 

                           sorry there are no facilities available



         Tour of the Bureau of Forestry

         Followed by Sweet Root Natural Area Woods Walk and Picnic

               Date & Time:  Friday, June 14  at 9am - noon

               Where:  400 Chaneysville Cove Road, Everett, PA
               Note:   tour led by Dusty Feight, Forest Maintenance Supervisor

                            walk in Sweet Root Natural Area Woods after tour of facilities

                            optional picnic lunch afterwards (bring your own)
